Tomorrow 8/11/2015 in Aux Gym (7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) is a workshop concerning injury prevention and nutrition for runners.
This workshop is strongly recommended for XC parents. A representative from Big Peach will discuss properties of running shoes, a nutritionist will talk about eating for runners, and coaches will explain about injury prevention and injury protocol for runners.
Friday 8/14/2015 at Don White Memorial Park/Pavilion is the annual RHS XC Time Trials and family picnic.
This event is our first “competition” of the season where runners will run 2 miles in order to get a time and ranking on the team. Race starts at 5:00 p.m. Top 10 boys and top 10 girls will be considered varsity heading into our first meet at Allatoona Creek Park on 8/22.
Families cheer their runners on and then everyone enjoys dinner together at the Don White Pavilion located (roughly) at 925 Riverside Drive, Roswell, GA. There are some open items on our sign-up list. Please click link and sign up for one of the items.
As always, if you have questions, please email me Joan McCarty at firstname.lastname@example.org
I look forward to seeing everyone at both events!
This announcement will address three things: 1) Practice on Saturday 8/8, 2) Sponsors for the Covered Bridge Race and 3) new social media for RHS XC
There will be a workout and timed mile run on Saturday, August 8, at 8:00 at Garrard Landing Park (8000 Holcomb Bridge Alpharetta, GA 30022). This is the location of our Covered Bridge Meet and the City of Roswell has spent this summer making significant improvements to the trails.
After the timed run, there will be a team workout; and practice will end at around 9:30. Parents are invited to see the timed run and walk or run the trails afterward.
We have so far ten sponsors for our Covered Bridge Meet (listed under sponsors on the left of the teampages RHS XC homepage). Please print the “2015 Covered Bridge Sponsorship” form at the link on the left and ask any businesses you frequent if they’d like to sponsor the team. Covered Bridge is our only fundraiser and any amount is helpful! Please check out the list of sponsors by clicking all and be sure to consider giving these places your business. They’re supporting us, let’s support them!
In order to advertise for and get the word out about the Covered Bridge Meet, we’ve started a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/rhsxcboosters), if you have Facebook, please be sure to “like” us. You can find race and venue information also at Twitter: @RHSXCBoosters #CoveredBridgeRun
As always, if you have questions, email Joan McCarty (email@example.com).

Picnic is for all runners and their families.

Our picnic will be at the pavilion immediately following the 5:00 p.m. races. Please sign up to bring an item to share or to donate money for our sub sandwiches.
